Audit & Assurance Internship
As an Audit & Assurance Intern you will support audit teams in conducting financial statement audits and assurance engagements and participate in the review and verification of financial documents to maintain accuracy and compliance. In addition, you will assist in the application of auditing methodologies and accounting standards such as GAAP and GAAS knowledge all while earning hours towards the Technical Reviewed Hours portion of the CPA requirement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting audit teams in conducting financial statement audits and assurance engagements
- Participating in the review and verification of financial documents to maintain accuracy and compliance
- Assisting in the application of auditing methodologies and accounting standards such as GAAP and GAAS
- Engaging in data analysis and interpretation to identify financial trends and insights
- Contributing to the preparation of financial reports and disclosures for stakeholders
- Collaborating with team members to manage client relationships and deliver audit services
- Learning and applying internal controls and compliance auditing techniques
- Observing and participating in the implementation of data security and quality measures
- Utilizing data visualization tools to present financial data effectively
- Analyzing financial transactions and statements to support audit objectives
- Gathering and organizing information to support risk identification and management processes
- Developing an understanding of accounting policies and financial reporting standards
- Engaging in active listening and communication to enhance team collaboration and client interactions
- Applying project management skills to assist in the coordination of audit tasks and timelines
- Follow firm workflow systems and engagement checklists.
- Maintain organized electronic workpaper files.
- Track time and billing codes accurately.
- Participate in firm training and professional development.
What We Pay
Our Interns make an average of $30/hour for rising seniors and work approximately 30 – 40 hours per week during the summer break. Actual compensation may range depending upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. For those interns who show an interest, Sprowls & Co may offer fall and spring internships and year round internships with adjustable hourly requirements.
What You Must Have
Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA in accounting coursework.
Anticipated graduation date in 2026, 2027 or May 2028.
US citizenship. Sprowls & Co does not participate in or sponsor H-1B employment visas.
English language competency.
